Outside of her professional life, Vanessa has been happily married to her high school sweetheart, Fernando De La Riva, for 26 years. Together, they are proud parents to three beautiful children. Vanessa has lived in a variety of locales, including El Paso, TX; Oceanside, CA; Douglas, AZ; and Artesia, NM.
She developed a profound affection for Artesia in 2008, while Fernando served as an instructor at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. The community's spirit of giving back, strong focus on children, and the excitement of Friday night football games deeply resonated with her.
